Following a large number of applications from across the Western Balkans, 16 emerging women filmmakers and media artists have been selected to take part in the Her Frame programme, supported by the British Council.

Throughout the programme, participants will work with leading women professionals from the film industry through online workshops, individual mentoring, and masterclasses. They will also attend key industry events and conferences held as part of film festivals in Novi Sad and Bitola. The focus is not only on developing artistic ideas but also on addressing gender inequality in the audiovisual field.

The selected finalists: Angela Dimeska, Teodora Miodragović, Tina Veličković, Ružica Anja Tadić, Višnja Sretenović, Nikolina Đenadija, Dragana Đokić, Stefanija Trpeska, Maša Rudović, Ivona Gjorgjiovska Kuzmanoska, Lenka Trajković, Nataša Veličkovska, Aneta Šijakova, Sonja Đurić, Ajsela Vojka i Bojana Nikolovska.

The selected finalists will work closely with established women professionals from the film industry: Sanja Poštić, award-winning digital designer and winner of the UX GATE Grand Prize in South Korea; Dina Duma, award-winning director of the first Macedonian movie available on Netflix; Bojana Andrić, acclaimed cinematographer and vice president of SAS and IMAGO (International Federation of Cinematographers); and Dragana Tešić, former long-time regional director of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The Her Frame project is implemented by Novi Sad Film Festival, organized by the Cultural Center of Novi Sad, and the Manaki Brothers Film Festival, with the aim of inspiring a new generation of women in creative industries and contributing to gender equality in the Western Balkans.

The project is supported by the British Council within the “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” (CC4WBs) initiative, funded by the European Union. The programme aims to foster regional dialogue by strengthening the cultural and creative sectors for greater socio-economic impact.
