Several films that were selected in the Official Selection “Camera 300” at the 44th edition of the International Cinematographers’ Film Festival “Manaki Brothers” have won numerous awards during the so-called awards season and established themselves at the top of the lists of the most successful films of 2023. Here are the accolades received by some of the most outstanding films from last year’s edition of our festival:
At the Oscars, “Anatomy of a Fall” (cinematographer Simon Beaufils) and “Past Lives” (cinematographer Shabier Kirchner) were nominated for Best Picture, while “Perfect Days” (cinematographer Franz Lustig) received a nomination for Best International Feature Film.
At the Golden Globes, “Past Lives” and “Anatomy of a Fall” were nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama, with the latter winning Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language.
At the European Film Awards “Anatomy of the Fall” was the absolute winner and received the award for Best European Film, and “Fallen Leaves” (cinematographer Timo Salminen) received a nomination in the same category.
At the César Awards, “Anatomy of the Fall” was again awarded Best Film, and “Perfect Days” and “Fallen Leaves” received nominations in the category of Best Foreign Film.
FIPRESCI’s Grand Prix for Best Film of the Year went to “Fallen Leaves”.
“Past Lives” and “Anatomy of a Fall” won Best Feature and Best International Film at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
The Satellite Awards nominated “Past Lives” for Best Motion Picture – Drama, and “Anatomy of the Fall” and “Fallen Leaves” for Best Motion Picture – International.
In addition, “Past Lives” was named Best Film of the Year in the IndieWire Critics’ Poll, with “Anatomy of the Fall,” “Perfect Days” and “Fallen Leaves” also receiving nominations.
At the Asia Pacific Film Awards, “Perfect Days” won Best Feature Film.
